Reflecting on one year of Kirkwood Timber Frame

It’s almost been one whole year since we launched Kirkwood Timber Frame - and these first 12 months have been a time filled with fantastic growth, exciting new milestones reached and a couple of challenges we’ve managed to overcome along the way.

As our first anniversary fast approaches, our Business Development Manager, Debbi Keatings, has taken time to reflect on our phenomenal first year in business, sharing our key highlights since we officially launched in August 2021…

“One year in at Kirkwood Timber Frame and it has been full of exciting projects, from working with our customers on case studies, to digitising our systems, extending our premises, installing new machinery, welcoming new team members, and getting stuck into the job in hand.

“Last year was all about getting our name out there, letting other businesses, suppliers and potential customers know about our plans to grow Kirkwood Timber Frame - I’m sure you’ve all been following our progress on social media platforms!

“2022 has been an incredible, although challenging year so far. The many projects that were brand new enquiries this time last year are now coming to fruition, and it is fantastic to see timber frames manufactured in our new facility now being delivered to site. Feedback from those who are working together with us has been very positive, which is important as our ethos is to provide the best customer service, and it’s always great to hear that the team is doing a fantastic job.

“As I pause and reflect on the milestones we’ve reached in our first year, I can pinpoint a few highlights and achievements which we take collective pride in here at Kirkwood Timber Frame:

  • Completed two major extensions to the timber frame factory building

  • Installed and commissioned our state-of-the-art production line

  • Continuing to recruit key roles into the business and welcome two placement students into the Kirkwood Timber Frame team

  • Moving into larger office premises on site

  • Completing the final edits to our soon-to-be-launched digital hub for our self-build customers, to support them on their journey through building their own home

  • Seeing three of our self-build projects progress to building warrant submission stage

  • Further investing in machinery - with a Splice Press and Hundegger saw to enable production of large panels and enhanced sawing capabilities, along with a second automated wall line to produce pre-insulated panels

  • Developing our self-build house range which will be launched later this year.

“Looking ahead, we’re all incredibly optimistic and excited for what the future holds for Kirkwood Timber Frame. We have a real opportunity to create positive change within the industry and continue to bring exceptional timber frame homes to life across Scotland, England and Wales. Here’s to our next chapter!”
